Welcome to the TCD Trust Website

As members of the Western Cape and South Africa Tourism and Hospitality Industry, the Tourism Community Development Trust believes it can play a leading role in facilitating community involvement in the positive growth that our sector can provide.

We aim to provide access to direct and indirect fundraising efforts for identified projects as well as to educate the broader community about the role that Tourism and Hospitality stakeholders can play in bringing about real change in our society.

Focus on the Future

Any country’s future depends largely on the health and well-being of it’s children and it is with this in mind that the TCD Trust has chosen to focus mainly on the many needs of children in our underpriviledged communities… click here for more

How It All Began – About the TCD Trust

The TCD Trust has been formed by 4 players in the tourism industry, who, recognizing the tremendous need for help in many disadvantaged areas, have teamed up in a bid to unify the efforts of their individual businesses and maximize their effectiveness in bringing the benefits of tourism to the community at large.

Each of the trustees has been personally involved, in a hands-on capacity, with various community projects and after chatting about these projects, comparing notes and sharing their frustrations, they decided that it made perfect sense to pool their efforts & resources and to form a legal body to take these efforts to greater heights.

Masikhule Home Creche Project

This was the first major project undertaken by one of the TCD Trust founders – albeit before the trust was legally incepted. The success of the project motivated the TCD Trust founders to establish the trust.
